For my first appointment I arrived 20 minutes early to fill out their forms. I brought my xrays from my previous dentist. I was then taken back, but when I refused to have xrays taken there, because my insurance only pays for certain xrays once every 5 years and I brought them with me, I was sent back to the waiting room, where I waited for almost an hour until I finally got up and asked when I was going to be seen. I then was taken in and everything went ok for that visit. I had great gums and teeth. My next visit 6 months later I arrived and was taken in pretty much on time, but I had the worst gums etc then and needed 3 parts deep cleaned, of course insurance doesn't cover that, but they said they would have to map by whole mouth and send it in with the insurance anyway just to see if they pay anything. Of course I had to pay for this mapping, get some rinse and medicated floss, which because I am not a well educated person with my MBA, I had to pay $15 for them to explain to me how to use the floss and rinse (didn't find out about this charge until much later). The directions were on the box and I could have read them and followed them just fine. Also, medicine and rinse very expensive. I also, was told that I needed 2 crowns (they will not be doing this). Well they never sent the information to the insurance company, and since I have 2 dental insurances I had to send the 2nd claim to my secondary insurance myself (way to much work for them to do). Anyway, my secondary insurance ended up paying almost $250 of that, but they sent the check to Byrd's office. Of course I thought I had paid my entire bill before I left, but somehow there was a charge that I was not aware of. I found this out after calling Michelle for my refund. I found out then that they never filed the claim with my insurance, so I asked her to do this, which she did not want to do, because they were not going to pay any of it anyway, but I insisted, so they finally sent the claim in. Meanwhile, I contineud to wait for my refund. After several calls, I finally faxed here my EOB and told her I was coming for my check, which someone finally was there. I also, had to get a new claim form with the extra charge on it to send myself to my secondary insurance. They are paying $22 more dollars and agian sent the check to Byrd's office. I had to go back for my regular cleaning which I was told on my second visit. My cleanings are fully covered by insurance , so I thought I would not have to pay anything, but I was wrong. I now had to pay just over $22 for this cleaning, if I was told this before hand I would not have gone. Now over 1 1/2 months later, they still have not sent the information that my insurance company is requesting to process the 1st claim. Also, if you want your xray, which you and your insurance has paid for it will cost you. Don't go there if, it will probalby take me several more phone calls to get my money owed to me.

I went into this dentist office for a cleaning, and they completely ripped me off, and i ended up having to pay a fortune! ask questions!!!!!!! they lie about EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!

My first visit here was great. My second visit was not so great. My appt was at 9a, I was taken to the back at 9:45a, and I wasn't seen until 10a! Why did I bother with an appointment!? I will give them one more shot because the hygenist is good and Dr. Byrd is extremely knowledgable...but if I have to wait again, I will NOT be back. My time is just as valuable as theirs.
